Mission
 

The purpose of the dance company is to preserve, research, educate and promote Mexican folkloric traditions and culture through art, music and dance.    
 
Quetzales Mexican Dance Ensemble is Northern Virginia's premier Mexican folkloric performing company. Founded in Arlington, Virginia in 1997, Quetzales is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

CLASS PLACEMENT & DANCE COMPANY AUDITIONS
 

Los Quetzales Mexican Folkloric Dance Company will be holding auditions for those who wish to join the company, or who wish to enroll in dance classes. Auditions will be held as follows:

DANCE CLASS AUDITIONS FOR 2008:
Saturday, August 23, 2008:
2:15 - 3:00 pm (children ages 6 to 12)
3:00 - 4:00 pm (teenagers and adults)

Saturday, August 30, 2008:
2:15 - 3:00 pm (children ages 6 to 12)
3:00 - 4:00 pm (teenagers and adults)

DANCE STUDIO AT GUNSTON MIDDLE SCHOOL

DANCE STUDIO AT THEATRE ON THE RUN

AUDITION FEE: $35.00 (one time admin. fee included)
DANCE or GYM attire required
SHOES: flat or tennis shoes, Mexican folkloric shoes or flamenco, if available, otherwise street shoes.

from 11:15 to 11:45 all children 12 and under
from 12:00 to 12:45 adults 13 and over

Auditions are held only once a year! So, don’t miss your opportunity. Boys, Young Men and Men are highly encouraged to audition as most of these dance styles require partner dancing! Here's your opportunity to get involved and enrich yourself and your community, with a cultural diverse activity. An excellent venue for healthy physical, sports activity.

After auditions classes will begin on Friday, September 5 /Monday, September 8, 2008, for adults & Saturday, September 6, 2008, for children, at the same location as the auditions:


Class 1) Beginner Young Adult –Adult classes (13 and up)
Fridays & (or) Mondays: 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Starting Friday, September 5, 2008 or Monday, September 8, 2008
Little or no dance experience required

Children’s Class 1) Beginner Classes for Children (Ages 6 to 12)
Saturdays: 2:15 – 3:15 p.m.
Starting, Saturday, September 6, 2008
Little or no dance experience required   

Class Fees: $ 45.00/month or $175.00/ for the semester if paid-in-full (Sept-Jan/& then Feb-June)
